Los Angeles Trip

L to R: Me, Pam Thompson, JR, Dyllan Lu, Dax Lafleur

As some of you know, I took a trip down to Hollywood to attend "the Barnyard Crew Screening and Wrap Party". What a nice time! My guest for the event (in place of Daisy who couldn't make it) was none other than AWN's career coach, Pamela Thompson!

I've been in touch with Pam for years and we finally met in person at the last Annie Awards in Glendale. (the Oscars/Emmys of the animation community) Pam was wonderful company at the wrap and I know my Omation friends all enjoyed meeting her as well.

The screening of BARNYARD was awesome! Steve Oedekerk introduced it and everyone went wild. Seeing my work in the context of such an entertaining movie was really a dream come true. I think the best part was watching the credits with the crew. Every new name that came up got big cheers from the crowd and what a feeling that was! ... my name is in there TWICE! :o) The movie really is fun, if you haven't seen it yet YOU SHOULD!

After the party at Paramount most of us wound up at the Biltmore hotel in LA. It was so great hanging out with all my friends again, especially my old roommates and all the effects crew. You guys ROCK! Later on a bunch of us wound up partying with Steve O in his suite. Telling stories and joking around with him was great, he's such a down-to-earth guy.

The red carpet and view of the screening theatre

I spent the rest of the week in LA hanging out with with my good friend Len Green and visiting other friends as well. I'll detail that in my next exciting post!

Hey Glenn,

Wow, the shaved head really looks good man. It adds that level of confidence, above and beyond what you already have. Nice job!!!

Good to see you had fun, who would'nt really. Just one question... partying it up with Steve-o and talking stories, did any of our old antics come up? I'm talking way back, wack street style. lol

Hey Glenn!

Long time man...

Really glad to hear that Barnyard went off with a smashing success! I can't wait to go see Barnyard! Everytime I go past the theatre I tell everyone at Fatkat that a kat worked on that film and he goes by the name of Glenn Curry!

ZAAARG looks amazing! Did you ZBrush at all to drive his bump map?

Thanks guys! I'll definitely count "Barnyard" among the good times. Still no match for my favorite times tho! Like the "Wackstreet" days in college (we were true celebs at the Opera House, Matt! hahaha) and being a FATKAT with you guys, Beans and Bri! (I say HOO and you say HAH! hehehe) Well since getting this far with Zaaarg I've been looking for work and looks like I got something fun lined up. I'll fill you in on it when I get home from Newfoundland this weekend!!!
