AWESOME TRIP! Part 3
Daisy and I drove to Miramichi where I went to school for animation and even returned for a contract in animation last year. I love that place for all the old and recent friends I made, and it would have been a shame not to stop in for a night... okay make it two!
We just had to stay at Sunnyside Inn, the bed and breakfast owned by Troy Donahue and his wife Carla. I lived with them while I was going to college and later moved into their rental place across the street. Before long the rental house became known as Animation House. We threw a LOT of parties! It was great seeing Carla and Troy again and reminiscing about the headaches we gave them! These days they are busy with their little boy Sean and thier new business in timberframing construction, not to mention a new pub called O'Donahue's on Water Street coming soon!
I also paid a visit to Fatkat Animation Studios, owned by my good friend Gene Fowler.
Unfortunately I didn't get to meet up with Gene but that's because he was gone on a vacation which he really deserves! Here he is pictured in Hamilton with our first instructor, the one and only Harold "Stimpy" Duckett! ( I totally stole that pic off your blog, sorry Gene!) I worked on a contract for Gene last year and just like in college, he worked like a madman the whole time.
It's paying off too! All the great guys I worked alongside are now supervising big contracts, among which is Happy Tree Friends! The show that I worked on has signed on for 5 more episodes too. Man they are busy! So a big congratulations goes out to Gene and his Fatkat crew for all their fantastic success! A special shout out goes to Nikki, John, Neven, Andrew, Beans and Patrick. You guys rock! Check out their stuff at www.fatkatanimation.com or visit their blog listed in my links section to the right. --->
So I got to have a couple beers with Fatkat's new and old as well as my old buddies from college, Mark Land and Adam Barry. Here's a pic of Adam doing what he does best... just kidding, bro! Adam went to Mount Allison University in Moncton after college and got his diploma in fine arts. Next he plans to attend Capilano College so he can apply all his fine arts experience in the 3D realm. I can't wait to see what he comes up with!

A quick nod to NBCC Miramichi, I had to go back and visit. It was cool to bump into Geordie Millar who taught me life drawing. Geordie is a world renowned wildlife artist (AMAZING WORK!), an avid scuba diver and a muscian. Check out his masterful work at www.geordiemillar.com
I also met Steve Lambe's little brother Jon who is getting ready to graduate and is going to work at Fatkat after. Those Lambe boys have got the stuff! Check out Steve's site, he just got hired on at Nickelodeon in Burbank! www.stevelambe.com
By the way, since the logo is here anyway, it's worth mentioning that the movie I worked on, BARNYARD is a Nickelodeon picture! It comes out July 28th. GO SEE IT!!!
