Hair Club for Madmen

I thought it would be a good idea to show some different hair colours. If we want grey streaks or highlights, it's just a matter of painting a map. I am tempted to revisit the goatee and curly moustache idea I had early on (pre-blog). The only concern I have is how it will move when the face is animated. It can be done, but it will take some testing.

I like the silver hair myself though the red gives him a certain Irish flare.

Hi Glenn,

Not knowing anything about hair myself, wouldn't the goatee move with the face, just like the eyebrows do?
I think the goatee might be a nice touch. It'd be cool to see him with that variation.

I like the silver too. He strikes me as being somewhat older and distinguished.

Colour-wise I'm partial to the dark hair, or a maybe a grey/brown mix. As far as the facial hair goes, I think a goatee and curly moustache would really suit him. Technically there will be challenges in doing a curly moustache. Hair guides move according to the normals of their emitters, in this case the upper corners of the mouth which deform a lot. Unless the tips are constrainted together and/or forces are used, the curled hairs will very likely fray out, interpenetrate the skin and even pop. I'm told there are effective techniques for controlling longer hairs using Syflex though so taht might be an option for us.
